How The Gate can become a channel for International Trade
Open the Gate to Trade
Open the Gate to Trade
The Gate already works at the junction of marketing, PR, events and international communication. Building on this foundation, I see an opportunity to position the agency as a facilitator of international trade flows between territories, sectors and cultures. My academic background in International Affairs and my field experience with agricultural products, textiles and tourism projects give me a concrete understanding of how stories, regulations and relationships shape cross‑border exchanges.
A proposal:
1. Territory‑based brand storytelling
Use PR and press office tools to tell the stories of regions, producers and destinations, linking them to international buyers, media and B2B partners (e.g. trade fairs, tourism boards, local consortia).
2. Trade‑oriented campaigns and events
Design campaigns and events that showcase local products and experiences (food, textiles, tourism, sports) to targeted international audiences, using The Gate’s expertise in integrated communication and event management.
3. Networks of local producers and international stakeholders
Map and connect networks of local entrepreneurs, cooperatives and SMEs with investors, distributors and institutions abroad, while The Gate manages messaging, positioning and media relations to give visibility and trust to these partnerships.
Cover Letter
I am a 23‑year‑old Italo‑Argentinian student of Tourism & Territory at LUISS in Rome, with a BA in International Affairs and a minor in Product Development from the University of Colorado Boulder, and I am strongly motivated to contribute to The Gate’s international PR and press activities. My background combines academic training and entrepreneurial projects in sustainable tourism, natural resources and product development with concrete field experience across Italy, East Africa, North Africa and the Americas, where I have worked with agricultural companies, textile producers and local communities to connect territories, people and products. I am multilingual (Italian and Spanish native, English near‑native, French fluent, with working Portuguese and Swahili), and I am used to moving between different cultural and professional contexts, from sports associations and creative projects to land development and conservation work. In addition to the experiences described in my CV, in June 2024 I spent two weeks in China at a diplomatic residence with a close Serbian friend whose family has long cooperated with both the Serbian and Chinese governments, an immersive experience that exposed me to the dynamics of high‑level international relations and strengthened my interest in dialogue between institutions, businesses and cultures. I believe this mix of international exposure, sensitivity to territories and narratives, and hands‑on work with real projects and stakeholders makes me particularly aligned with The Gate’s integrated approach to communication, and I would be excited to support the team in building meaningful stories and relationships with partners operating across borders.Sincerely,Carlo
